Day 669

Friday, October 2, 2020 -

“His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him Who called us by His own glory and excellence” (2Peter 1:3). We will only be victorious in our Christian life if we come to the recognition that when it comes to living our lives in a godly manner, we are helpless. It is only through His divine power that we can overcome the temptations and lusts of the world. It is when we try to do things on our own that we fail. The next verse says, “For by these He has granted to us His precious promises, in order that by them you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.” So you see, this is His promise, we are bestowed only from Him, with His divine nature. Not only do we them escape the corruption that is in the world through the lust of man, but the next three verses promise us His divine attributes - - if we allow Him to take over, “applying all diligence, in your faith”

-- moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love!
